What is a stock exchange?
A stock exchange, also sometimes called a share market, facilitates the trading of stocks or other securities while also allowing for the issue and redemption or such securities.
The New York Stock Exchange, operated by NYSE Euronext, Inc., is the most prominent example of a stock exchange in the United States.
